Alternate nostril breathing is a yogic breath control practice, it can be done as a part of a yoga or meditation routine but can also be done on its own to help you quiet & still body & mind. Hilary Clinton famously used this type of breathing after her loss of the 2016 election to manage stress & anxiety. This breathing practice has been shown to lower stress, heart rate & blood pressure, improve cardiovascular function, improve lung function & respiratory endurance & promote feelings of wellbeing. Not bad when all you have to do is sit down & breath, you don’t even have to sit on the floor, a comfy chair will do!
