Tension in the neck & shoulders is a pretty common complaint. It can be caused by poor posture, lack of movement, over training of certain muscles & unbalanced sleeping positions. It is also a very common symptom of stress & anxiety. Over time it can lead to muscle spasms, tingling in arms & hands, numbness, shooting pains & stiffness. Fortunately it can often be relieved by yoga, stretching, massage, relaxation & other stress management techniques.
